Rivers in Corbett National Park<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One of Corbett’s key draws, both from a tourist perspective and in terms of the development of the flora and fauna which contributes to the region’s diversity as a destination is the local rivers like Ramganga (West), Kosi, Sonanadi, Dabka and so many more. Rivers including Ramganga and Kosi which flow in the surrounding Corbett are the most diversified. Most of Ramnagar’s inhabitants live near the Kosi and work in a variety of ways to support the growth of aquatic animals. The vast majority of the local animals are dependent on this river. The rivers that run into and surround Corbett are these:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kosi River:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the major rivers in Corbett or ramnagar is the Kosi which runs through most of the area. Locals and the Corbett wildlife- as well as other local animals and creatures from this area, used to congregate to quench their thirst. It emanates from Mohann to the various places of Ramnagar however it does not flow into the park.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ramganga River:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Jim Corbett National Park used to be known as <\/span>“Ramganga National Park<\/span>” for a short period of time 1954-1957 so that we can have an idea about the importance of this river. It wouldn’t be inaccurate to refer to this as Corbett’s “Powerhouse” as the park’s wildlife and flora depend on it for survival. It originates in the Gairsain region of Uttarakhand and is a product of rain which gets generated by rain. Up to Kalagarh, where it reaches the plain area, it travels 40 kilometres (km) east to west inside the park. The water in Ramganga gets collected from its significant tributaries <\/span>Palain, Mandal<\/span>, and <\/span>Sonnadi<\/span> rivers, and finally drains into the Ganga River near Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Forest Rent Houses in <\/span>Dhikala<\/span> will offer you the best sightseeing of the Ramganga River in dhikala and chances to view wildlife in their natural habitat. It is located along the bank of the Ramganga River, where there are opportunities to witness wildlife because most animals come here at night for food or just to roam about, even birds can spot in this region. In the midst of the forest with a river view, Bird lovers will also experience the Heavenly atmosphere.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sonanadi River:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This river is a tributary of the Ramganga River which is stunning and noteworthy. It is so named in honour of the wildlife animal sanctuary that borders the ‘<\/span>Jim Corbett National Park’<\/span> and is regarded as an integral component of ‘<\/span>Corbett Tiger Reserve’<\/span>. It joins the Corbett territory from North-West and combines into the Ramganga River.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
