The first translocation in the history of Jim Corbett National Park took place on 24th December, 2020, wherein the two adult tigress and 3 tigers from Jim Corbett National Park were shifted to western part of theRajaji Tiger Reserve in Dehradun. And this step aims towards increasing the density of Big Cat in the Rajaji Reserve.

After receiving the approval of translocation in the year 2016, the translocation took place through chemically immobilizing and radio collaring of tigers. And, herein the tigers from varying age group were selected for the translocation.
